For my TELL project I am going to connect each event from my past, present, and future with a quote, "I don't want my life to be defined by what is etched on a tombstone. I want it to be defined on what is etched in the lives and hearts of those I've touched". This quote was said by Steve Maraboli. I feel this quote is relatable to each one of my stories. My grandfather is not remembered by his death, he is remembered by all the accomplishments he had in his lifetime, he is remembered as a caring and loving man. He was able to put his mark on the world and touch peoples lives. He is not remember by what is on his tombstone or how he passed away, he is remembered for all the good he has done for others. Slimmy, my uncle died at a very young age, a little over a week after his 26th birthday. Slimmy was not able to put his mark on the world, and many only know and will only remember him by what is on his tombstone and how he passed away but, although he didn't get to put his mark on the world and on many others, he put his mark on me and he has influenced my life greatly since his passing. His death has showed me what I really want to do, it showed me that a life can be taken at any moment and tomorrow my life could be gone and if were to pass, I want to be remembered by being a nurse and helping others and giving my all to others. This quote relates to my future because I want to do great things in my life, I want to be in a hospital and be able to save peoples lives like Slimmy and give them a chance to put their mark on the world and on others. I want to be able to help people with cancer like my grandfather who was able to put his mark on many people, I want to experience having someone like him put their mark on me. And finally, I want to be able to save lives and help others and put my mark on them.
